An Oklahoma City car crash with a city, county or state vehicle runs on a one-year notice deadline and a 180-day suit window that starts when the claim is denied. The One-Year Claim Notice

Under 51 O.S. 156(B) through (D), except as provided in subsection H, a claim against the state or a political subdivision must be presented within one year of the date the loss occurs and is forever barred otherwise. A claim against the state is filed in writing with the Office of the Risk Management Administrator, and a claim against a political subdivision with the clerk of its governing body.

Denial and the 180-Day Window
